Untitled (Age: 21)

I wrote this one for a friend who was going through a break up with her boyfriend while we were studying abroad in Japan. I got the idea for a chinese song called "Turning".

Once upon a time,
He gave me this phone.
He called ten times a day
& I memorized the tone.
But now the phone is broken.
It's forgotten how to ring
It just stares at me blankly.
His amnesia erased everything.
He once told me forever.
I once believed his lies.
But now the phone sits silently,
Despite how hard I try.
Pathetically I struggle...
Try anything to bring you back.
I'd stand in one spot turning
But the phone remains dead slack.
I give my all just turning,
Just waiting for you to see.
I could spend my life in circles,
and you still won't look at me.
